Earl, is a totally stupid swindler living of offences, wins in a lottery. After a serious accident, nailed in hospital and seeing a program about Karma, he decides to become a better man and is going to use this money won in lottery to redeem himself.

He works out a list of all bad actions he committed, and starts to redeem himself. The task is difficult because some actions of this list are particularly crazy, and his poor victims did not forget about it at all.

He tries to redeem himself with his friends of the “Crab shack” (a bar):
-Joy: his ex wife, totally hysterical and degenerate
-Darnell: Joy’s new husband and barman at the Crab Shack, of his real name Harry Monroe benefits from a witness’ protection
-Catalina: Earl and Randy’s friends and the waitress in the motel where the 2 brothers lived
-Randy: Earl’s little brother who helps him to redeem himself because he had helped his brother in the past for the offences. Randy is as clever as a sponge but he’s an engaging character.

Some examples of the list:

- He stole the car of a one legged woman (one of his ex girl friends).

- He sends one of his friends to jail, and to redeem himself he helps his friend’s mother to stop smoking.

- With Randy, Earl stole lot of things in the house of a deaf person who is sleeping, making the maximum of noise as smashing a door.
